Round Robin Winding Down

This center began with a printed panel. It belongs to Joyce G.
Wow! Has it really been two years since we began our adventure in adding borders? This has been an interesting round robin...sometimes challenging to keep the quilt top square. It has also been a challenge to make the border enhance the quilt, rather than detract from it! From the ones I've seen, I think we have done a great job. Here are three tops that have recently come to me for my addition.
This is ready for quilting. It belongs to Karen B.

Gen C. owns this quilt with the theme of friendship. It needs one more border.
Send me a photo of any you would like to see posted here. I hope we can have a real live quilt show with the finished quilts!

For a New Baby Named Stella

About twenty-five years ago I watched a first-grader who was a neighbor and my kindergartner's best friend. He and his wife had their first baby last month, so I had to make them something for Stella.
Polar Fleece jacket and receiving blanket.

Some Recent Projects

As you know, Kandice is our very prolific quilter, knocking them out at what seems to me to be a very rapid pace! She makes quilts for all of the graduating girls in their ward. Lucky girls! Here are a few tops.

She has quilted them since these pictures were taken!

Detail--notice the secondary 3-d block pattern. Cool!
From Bali Pops--the precut strips from Hoffman Fabrics. She had enough strips left over to make the wallhanging on the right.

Two more tops...

Ladies of the Lake Christmas Party

The Ladies of the Lake met at Rae Ann's on December 14 for a Christmas lunch and gift exchange.

After a great potluck lunch, and gift exchange, of course we had show and tell of projects in various stages of completion.

Donna showed us the retro top above that she had given to her. We all agreed this has to be hand quilted and said we would help!

We had a very nice time, especially visiting with some of the Ladies who came from far distances to be with us.

Resolution for next year: Better pictures of quilts with better identifying info!!

Sara surprised us by presenting each Lady with a copy of the official "Log" containing entries from all retreats held at the cabin for the past six years. Thanks, Sara!
